Dual Credit Hermitage R-IV has a dual credit agreement with Missouri State University (West Plains) and Ozark Technical College. Eligible Hermitage High School students may receive up to $700 payment of dual credit courses.
Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.33 (B+ average), scored proficient or advanced in that subject area or have teacher recommendation in that subject area with the minimum GPA to be eligible to participate in the district paid dual credit program. Students taking a class for dual credit must receive a "C" or above in the class for the grade to transfer to college. If a student receives a “D” or “F” in a dual credit class for which the district provided payment, the student must reimburse the district for the class and will not be eligible for further district paid dual credit courses until the tuition is repaid. Dual credit is available in the following courses:
English IV (3)
College Algebra (3)
Psychology (3)
Sociology (3)
American Government (3)
Biology II (4)
Child Development II (3)

*Other dual credit opportunities may arise at the start of each semester and must be approved by the principal. Dual credit classes may not transfer to every degree program at colleges. Each college has different requirements. The following stipulations must be met in order for a student to receive dual credit: 1. The student must receive a minimum grade of “C” in the class for the grade to transfer to college. 2. Students must score at the “Proficient or Advanced” level or above on the MAP/EOC test in the subject area they are taking for dual credit.
